Design Build Landscapes MN Team and Projects

Our Studio

Where Craft Meets
Living Nature

The Art of the Outdoor Sanctuary

Design Build Landscapes MN was founded with a simple mission: that the outdoor environment deserves the same creative rigour and material honesty as the finest interior architecture.

Over over 15 years, we have grown into a studio of our dedicated team of professionals — horticulturalists, stone craftsmen, lighting designers, and irrigation engineers — united by a shared obsession with the interplay of light, texture, season, and structure.

"We do not impose design on nature. We listen to it, and then compose it — the way a conductor draws music from silence."

Every commission begins not with pencils, but with presence. We walk the site at dawn and at dusk, in rain and in full sun. We learn its moods before we sketch a single line.

Our landscape design philosophy in action

Three Pillars of Timeless Design

01

Luxury

Luxury is not ornament — it is the feeling of perfect alignment between space, material, and intention. We achieve it through restraint and precision, never excess.

02

Craftsmanship

Every stone is placed by hand. Every specimen is selected from growers we trust personally. Craftsmanship is the invisible standard that elevates the tangible result.

03

Timelessness

Trends pass; masterpieces endure. We design for the landscape fifty years from now — for mature canopies, seasoned stone, and gardens that grow more beautiful with age.

From First Conversation
to Enduring Legacy

Phase 01
Discovery & Site Study

We spend two to three sessions on site — walking at different times of day, mapping sun paths, water drainage, soil profiles, and the existing ecology. Only then do we begin to imagine.

Phase 02
Concept Design

Our principal designer presents a hand-crafted concept book: hand-drawn plans, material palettes, plant lists, and mood photography — delivered in a velvet-lined presentation folio.

Phase 03
Design Development

Following client approval, we produce full technical drawings, 3D renderings, and a detailed bill of materials. Every element is sourced from trusted craftsmen and specialist growers.

Phase 04
Construction & Planting

Our own crews and specialist sub-contractors execute the work under direct supervision of the lead designer. We set exacting quality standards and will not accept anything less.

Phase 05
Reveal & Stewardship

The unveiling is an event in itself — ambient lighting, live acoustic music, and champagne. Ongoing stewardship includes a monthly Garden Gazette and a dedicated care team.
